DRESSING APPROPRIATELY
The greatest sermon one can ever preach is by
how he or she dresses
Have you ever walked
into a place or a shindig and just felt not welcomed or that you just don't
belong? Even though you are in the right place and you know most of the people
there, whether you like it or not, how you are dressed plays a major role in how
people welcome and interact with you.
If you are not appropriately dressed for that particular event
people will subconsciously think less of you and this might hurt your chances
of having a good time and making a good connection with other people.
Don't you worry, I am here to guide you onto the right path. Below are five ways which you can follow.
1. Know the type of event
In as much as its important to know where you are going it is
also very important to know the type of event you are going to e.g a wedding, an office
party, a chill with the guys etc.... You don't want to be that douche that isn't
with the program, showing up in socks
and sandals; always be well informed.
2. Prepare for the weather
A well dressed person
has to possess a sixth sense about the weather. Carry a throw over if you not sure where the day leads, no one wants to see goosebumps
tattooed all over you and no one wants to see you sweat through a sweater! So be prepared!
3. Know what time it is
As we all know, time is nobody’s best friend; however you can
be great allies with it. That said, wearing outfits that are meant for the night time
during the day is a big no no and
vice versa. In as much as sweat pants are the "it" trend they are not
dinner, cocktail, or hitting-the-club appropriate. Pay attention to the time
4. Pick your outfit
When picking out your outfit, be playful, play matchmaker, don't just wear anything that's within sight and arms reach,be bold : wear
prints but not too much prints in one outfit, so be imaginative and creative.
5. Smile and be kind
A person is only as good as their personality, you don't want
people to think you are sour and unkind. Even if you are shy or introverted, remember that you are never fully dressed
without a smile...
